I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly looking for places to put things in my house. I tend to hold onto things, but I’m always looking for simple solutions on how to store them.
I thought I’d share a few simple solutions that I’ve found that have worked in my home so far. They are all DIY and inexpensive! Nothing that requires a saw, but maybe a screwdriver, and hammer and nail. I’m sure you can manage that.
In my closet, for the shoes I wear often, I have this little cubbie that I picked up at Target. It holds at least 15 pairs of shoes, but in some cases, for things like flip flops or flat sandals, you can probably squeeze two pairs in one. You might not have this many pairs of shoes, but if you’re female, I’m guessing you do! Who doesn’t pick up at least 2-3 new pairs a year? I do!
For the shoes I don’t wear that often, I purchased clear plastic containers so it’s easy to see them. These containers, you can pretty much find anywhere – Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, The Container Store, you name it. Depending on the shoe, you may even be able to fit more than one pair in a container.
I picked up this shadow box at Marshall’s a while back. It’s a simple and easy way to display earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. It’s cute and holds the items with a pin!
During the holidays I received an offer from Brad’s Deals for 5 magazines for $15. Who wouldn’t take that deal. However, I have so many magazines, but no time to read them. They were starting to pile up, so I decided I wanted to use a window shutter to display them. Initially, I couldn’t find one in a store, so I went to The Home Depot and picked up some things to make my own. But while at another of my trips to Marshall’s (you know I love that place), I stumbled across a couple of shutters. It was extremely easy to hang with two nails. And now I have a magazine rack!
Just look at how many magazines it holds! I love it.
Have any simple solutions you’d like to share? We’d love to hear about them!
