Margarita Nights

It’s been sunny and warm here in San Diego and it’s making us yearn for a margarita filled vacation.  Close your eyes and imagine: a margarita or cold beer in hand (but most likely, lukewarm), sun-kissed shoulders, swim-up bars, sand in all the wrong places, the sound of the warm ocean waves crashing on the shore, and the smell of salt that just cannot be escaped.  Aaaaaahhhh tastes, feels, and smells like heaven to us!  Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long to experience this in person since we are attending a tropical destination wedding in a few months.  However, we are both impatient and couldn’t wait that long, so we rounded up a few ideas from the web to create a stateside Margarita Night to hold us over.

Rally a few friends, add a cocktail or two, throw in some tasty treats, and you too can be enjoying Margarita Nights in no time!

Let’s get this party started!

First things first – MARGARITAS!  How cute are these margaritas?  You can give a traditional margarita a classy twist by serving it in a martini glass, freeze it to create an adorable and fun Margarita Popsicle, go classic on the rocks (source unknown), or serve a non-alcoholic version of Ginger-Lime Soda.

If you aren’t a fan of margarita’s, grab a bucket, add some beer, and top with ice.  Or, try a tasty Michelada.

Set the stage with some colorful and bright tissue paper pom poms, both in your party space and your cocktails.

String some cafe lights overhead to add ambiance.

Keep rumbling tummies at bay with some fresh salsa and guacamole while you whip up the main course.

Not sure what to serve?  Here are a few ideas.  Start with fresh tortillas, trust us, EVERYTHING tastes better wrapped in a fresh tortilla.  Add some cheese and shrimp to create a shrimp quesadilla, go a more traditional route with carne asada street tacos, or get creative with some gluten fee shark tacos!

(Don’t you love how Martha served her Carne Asada Tacos in paper food trays?  Super cute and no dishes – win, win!)

For dessert fry up some churros and serve with a side of vanilla ice cream.  Yum!

Now that you have the food and drinks taken care of, here are some great party printables we put together to help with the details!  Except for the invitation, which needs personalization, these all can be instantly downloaded so you can use them for your party tonight!!!

I’ve never met a margarita or Mexican food I didn’t like! Can’t wait for Puerto Vallarta, but these tips will work for us this summer 🙂
