Today I’m giving you a sneak peek of one project that’s been on my “To Do” list for a while now. Like Dawn’s closet, I’m embarrassed to show you this. But if you have kids, and lead a busy life like I do, then you’ll understand why I haven’t gotten to it yet.
The project is my kitchen table and chair set that I’ve already re-done once before. It was a hand me down from my husband’s grandparents, both are no longer with us, so it’s important to me that we continue to maintain it. My mother in-law and I have already re-done it once, when we initially got it. I can’t recall the color, but I want to say it was something like a green or a blue. And since then, it’s been sprayed chocolate brown and we recovered the seats. But the kids have destroyed it with their many spills and messy meals.
If you look close enough you can see just how yucky the seats are. Ewww!
My intentions are to give it a good wash down, let it dry, and then go to town with spray paint. This shouldn’t take as much time as it did the first time because the base is already brown and it just needs some serious touching up.
This time around I’ve chosen to use outdoor fabric as it can be washed off and hopefully, it will hold up better. The fabric is a little funner than I would havechosen, but it certainly adds a pop of color to my room and to the set.
We’ll see – fingers crossed!
