Updating a 1962 Thomasville Dining Room Table and Chairs

Here’s just one of the many things that we love to do here at Simply Tangerine. We love to add our own special twist to things, especially with paint!

Last week we picked up this fabulous Thomasville dining room table and cane back chairs. It’s stamped 1962, so we know it will probably make some of you gasp in horror to think of taking a paint brush to it, but it really just needs to be brought into this century. It’s not bad the way it is, but we saw the potential in this beauty right from the start.

Don’t mind the mess in the garage!

This iron bar under the table was a pleasant surprise when we got it home!

Here are some of the inspiration pieces that we are using to help make this transformation possible. We’ll be doing a little of this and a little of that to bring this set to life!

We are planning to sell this set. We’re listing it for $1200!  That includes a beautiful rectangle table, 4 chairs, 2 arm chairs, and one leaf.  For what’s on the market these days from places like Restoration Hardware and the like, you would never find something like this for that price!  And this is quality furniture.

If you’re interested in purchasing it, please contact us immediately. We’re pretty sure with these beautiful lines, cane chairs, and rectangle shaped table, this won’t be sitting in our garage for long, but rather in your dining room, serving up some yummy food and delicious wine to friends and family!   And you can throw in that extra leaf for those unexpected guests!

We hope you can see our vision for these beautiful pieces!  Stay tuned for this incredible transformation!
